Autograph letter signed, dated : Leipzig, 2 November 1748, to his cousin J[ohann] E[lias] Bach in Schweinfurt, 1748 Nov. 2.

Thanking him for a cask of wine, expressing regret that distance prohibits him inviting his cousin to the marriage of his daughter Liessgen to Mr. Altnickol, mentioning the recent death of M. Birnbaum, and asking that his cousin not send more wine because the cost of taxes, duties, etc., make it too expensive for a gift.
